Finding Our Way

Ever been lost? Picture yourself in a pre-GPS world, running late for an appointment. You stop to ask for directions, and it’s like you're deciphering a treasure map from a pirate. Back when we relied on strangers' directions, frustration often led us to just wave the white flag and say, "Forget it, I'm heading home."

Clear Directions in a Confusing World

Let's pivot to something more profound. In John 14:6, Jesus provides the ultimate roadmap: "I am the way, the truth, and the life." No vagueness, just a clear path forward.

The phrase "I am" resonates throughout the scriptures, tying past, present, and future into one eternal certainty. It's like a timeless beacon guiding us through life's fog.

The Divine Identity

When Jesus says "I am," He’s not just pulling words out of thin air. He’s tapping into a divine heritage, echoing the "I AM" of the Almighty Father. It’s a connection that runs deeper than any family tree, a truth that roots us firmly in faith.

These "I am" statements are more than just words. They’re titles, identities, truths that speak to who Jesus is: the bread, the light, the shepherd, the vine—the very essence of life.

The Way Home

In a world where everyone seems to have their own map, Jesus's claim stands out. He’s not just a way, He’s the way.

Like a lighthouse guiding us safely to shore, He offers direction in the chaos.

Admitting we’re lost is the first step. Whether we're aware or not, we’re all searching for home. Jesus throws us a lifeline, saying, "I am the way home."

Truth That Sets Us Free

Truth today? Jesus cuts through the haze with His declaration: "I am the truth." It’s not about bending reality to fit our desires but aligning ourselves with His unwavering truth. Jesus's words are a lifeline, pulling us out of the mire of confusion. His truth isn’t just another option; it’s the anchor we desperately need.

Embracing Life

While death seems inevitable, Jesus promises hope beyond the grave, by offering us salvation and eternal life if we but believe in Him. Choosing Jesus means choosing life—real, abundant, eternal. It’s about stepping off the carousel of fleeting pleasures and stepping into the joy of His presence.

The Choice is Ours

So as we stand on the precipice of decision, the world offers countless paths, each one full of empty promises. But Jesus offers the only true path that leads home. Choosing Him means admitting we’re lost without Him. It’s acknowledging our need for a Savior, recognizing that without Him, we are utterly and truly lost.

Like the children of Israel standing on the banks of the Jordan before crossing over into the promised land, we too have a choice. Will we choose life and blessing, or will we wander aimlessly in the wilderness, with no clear way home?

In the end, it all boils down to one simple truth: Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. And in choosing Him, we will find our way home.
